KES Old Boy Stephen Cook is Sportsman of the Year for OES!
21 November 2014King Edward VII School Old Boy, bizhub Highveld Lions ODI Captain and Premier OES cricketer, Stephen Cook was named as the 2014 Sportsman of the Year at the Old Edwardians Awards Evening on the 20 November 2014. For his performances with the bizhub Highveld Lions as well as being made captain of the SA Invitational team that played against India and Australia last year, it was a well deserved award for Stephen.
There were joint runners up in Gus Pinker and Dion Willis for their officiating at world water polo events.
The President, Tutty Faber, presented the awards and here is the full list of winners:
Sportsman of the Year: Stephen Cook – cricket
Runners up: Gus Pinker and Dion Willis – water polo
Best female junior: Faye Keighley – swimming
Best male junior: Cameron Peterson – tennis
Best schoolboy playing sport for the Society: Grant Roelofsen – cricket
Best performance by a senior: Linda Icely – athletics
Team award: 1st cricket team
Sportsmanship award: Tim Johnston
Sub club of the year: Water polo
Chairmans award: Kevin Webber
