KES Old Boys, Class of ’77 art handover at Assembly!

On Friday, 14 September the School had two very special guests, Old Boys Richard McEvoy and Jeremy McKenna, both of the Class of 1977.

They handed over to Headmaster, Mr Lovatt a painting that was done by Jeremy McKenna. The painting depicts the start of the Memorial Parade last year when the Class of ’77 attended their 40th reunion in November 2017.

This painting is not only beautiful, but very special for the Class of 2018, as they are all the boys depicted in the painting from their Memorial Parade in 2017.

It is a labour of love from Old Boy Jeremy McKenna, who lovingly worked on this painting during his spare time since the Class of ’77 reunion in 2017, whilst running his own veterinarian practice in Jukskei Park.

There is a small plaque on the painting stating that it is from the Class of ’77 and is in memory of Howard Remmington who was also from the ’77 year , who was killed on the border doing his National Service at that time.

A wonderful gesture and gift from the Class of 1977 – the School thanks you for your generosity and know this beautiful piece of art will be proudly treasured by all the sons of this place.
