King Edward’s Scarra is a BOK!

King Edward VII School Old Boy, Siyabonga Ntubeni was yesterday included in the Springbok Touring Squad to Wales, Scotland and France. The diminutive 22-year-old, affectively known as “Scarra”, was the big bolter in Heyneke Meyer’s 32-man squad for the November internationals.

Ntubeni was the form hooker of the Currie Cup competition and was acknowledged as the player of the Month for September. According to rugby365 website, Scarra is quoted in saying on his selection: “Words cannot describe my feelings at the moment,” an elated Ntubeni said following Monday’s squad announcement.

“It really is beyond my wildest dreams. I’d like to thank everyone at Western Province – my teammates and coaches – and I look forward to joining my WP mates in the Bok squad.”

Ntubeni joins another KES legend and BOK superstar, Bryan Habana in the squad. Congratulations Scarra, we wish you much success in this exciting adventure. The RED Community has their sights firmly fixed on you!

Furthermore our Old Boy has shown he has a big heart and is generously giving back to the community too. Western Province hooker Scarra is just 22 but when asked to be the face of the Groote Schuur Hospital’s neonatal unit’s new campaign, ‘Little by Little’, he obliged without thinking twice. Ntubeni says he loves children and his warm and friendly demeanour was a hit with the kids and PR people alike.

Well done Scarra, we are extremely proud of you!
