The Race is On – Munga 2018! Let’s support Mr Bain Venn.
20 September 2018Munga 2018: Martin Bain Venn needs your support!
Master and Old Boy, Mr Martin Bain Venn gearing-up to ride the toughest race in the world again for a fantastic cause. Below he explains Munga 2018:
Hi All,
I’ll be lining up at the start line of the Munga again this year. This year I will be riding for a different cause, but one that is also very close to my heart. I will be partnering with Mike Stevens from Jumping Kids. Jumping Kids mandate is to provide quality prosthetic solutions that amputee kids gain access to mobility, education and sporting opportunities. We’re partnering to advocate for change and highlighting the need for amputee kids to have access to equipment and maintenance services, so they can attend mainstream schooling. It is not enough to merely fit a child with a prosthetic. It is a lifelong issue that needs to be understood and managed to assist these kids in discarding stereotypes and developing into capable contributing members of society.
Access to equipment and services translates into access to better education and sport. Our goal is to raise enough money to offer a suitable candidate, with a lower limb amputation, a bursary to King Edward VII School where Mike and myself can both mentor him whilst he makes the most of the opportunities the school offers its learners.
